Equine Hoof Care - Useful Info.

As you approach your pony make sure the symmetry is close, however they do not need to be precisely equal, but extremely near to being the same size and form. Have you got horses? Are you wondering what's the easiest way to build a fence to keep them in their paddock? As the partner of a pony fanatic I've had many years expertise of building fences and I wish to share with you some of my observations and expertise. Electrical Fences I consider electrical fence as a short lived solution if you're using it by itself. It can work fine to an extent although not all horses respect it and simply rip it down when they get excited and start running. One at roughly 2 feet high and the other at roughly four feet high. For horses I like to use the white ribbon rather than metal wire. The one in. ribbon is nice as it moves around in the wind and gives the pony a large amount of visible alert. . Electrical Fence Charger The charger -- often called a controller -- is vital to your success. You've got to get a potent one to give a good shock so that the horses will respect your new fence. I drive in three ground rods about three feet apart that connect to the charger. The charger will often have a meter on it. This will help you identify if some of the juice is dripping. The hooves at the front should be alike in form and dimensions and the same with the rear hooves. Try and gently depress each frog using your hoof pick, usually, with the exception of desert areas, they need to be a little squashy.

Once the material has been removed, check all of the regions of the hoof and ensure that there isnt a bad odour as this is usually a clear sign of thrush. Confirm there are no rocks or gravel lodged anywhere, even under the shoe. The hooves should display a natural gloss on the hoof wall.
